Gentle Rainfall

Privacy Policy

The short version

Gentle Rainfall doesn't have accounts, doesn't set tracking cookies, doesn't run advertising or analytics scripts, and doesn't sell or share your data. The only things we store are your votes on clips, and a short anonymous fingerprint of your connection used to stop vote spam.

What we collect

What stays on your device

Your browser's local storage remembers how many votes you've cast and which clips you've already rated, so the site can thank you and avoid asking twice. It never leaves your device and you can clear it any time in your browser settings.

Bot protection

To keep automated scripts from stuffing the vote counts we use Cloudflare Turnstile. It runs a quick check in your browser when you vote, and Cloudflare processes the signals it collects under its own privacy policy.

Hosting and logs

The site, the clips, and the vote database are hosted on Cloudflare (Workers, R2, and D1). Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data such as IP address and browser type to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use that data for anything else.

Links to other sites

The site links to our YouTube channel. Once you're on YouTube, Google's privacy policy applies.

Your choices

To ask what we have on file or request removal of your votes, email hello@gentlerainfall.com. Because we store only a one-way hash, we may ask you to be on the same network so we can find the matching records.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If what we collect or how we use it changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
